Job overview

Stepping Stones is a small but rapidly growing SEN school with a healthy waiting list for admissions.    We currently make provision for 85 children aged 7 – 19 years, with a range of mild disabilities including acute or chronic medical conditions, a range of mild physical disabilities and those youngsters whose mental and/or emotional health is at risk.

We work to ensure that our students embrace a positive school environment to become self-confident, independent learners for life.  With the aim that each will fulfil their personal potential to gain the qualifications and skills they need to be socially and economically independent in their local community.

We are looking for a new English teacher to work at Key Stage 3 and 4 with students working from Entry Level to GCSE.  Class sizes are an average of eight students with teaching assistant support in every class.  You will join a small team and have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the English curriculm through the school as it grows.

We offer excellent facilties in a literary heritage site: the Surrey home of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.  This is a unique opportunity which brings with it an opportunity to work with creative writers already involved with the school.
