English Teacher (Secondary)
We are looking for an experienced and inspiring teacher to join a team of English teachers in a well- established department. The Secondary School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum for Egnland at KS3, IGCSE at KS4 and the in Diploma Programme in the Sixth Form. Students take either English A or English B in the Diploma Programme and we aspire to English First Language with (I)GCSE students. Our teachers are well-qualified, confident, well-organised, have a good sense of humour and participate fully in all aspects of school life within and beyond the classroom. We now seek a like-minded colleague to join our English Department in the Secondary School in the next exciting phase of its development.
This role calls for a fully qualified teacher of English with a strong background in developing students’ grasp of English as a second language skills for native speakers and those for whom English is an additional language. The successful candidate will understand the importance of helping students to develop their cognitive academic language proficiency in English as well as their literal translation skills.
A qualification in EAL teaching would be a key advantage for any applicant, as will experience of teaching English B in Group 2 of the IB Diploma Programme.
English teachers are responsible to the Head of English and are key members of the Secondary School team. Teachers demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism and will, in particular:

- Be accountable for all aspects of standards in their teaching;
