Founded in September 2014, Galaxy International School (GIS) is a private, co-educational day school and part of an education group that owns a network of institutions ranging from a preschool to a university in Kazakhstan’s two major cities – Almaty and Astana. GIS is located in Almaty, Kazakhstan, one of the most beautiful cities in Central Asia situated in the foothills of the Trans-Ili Alatau mountains. Almaty, meaning 'city of apple trees', is known to be as a financial and cultural centre of Central Asia. GIS is a member of COBIS and offers Cambridge International Programmes and Qualifications as well as Cambridge English exams.    

We seek a dedicated Secondary English Teacher to join our team for an August 2018 start. The successful applicant will be expected to:

  • Actively promote the ethos of the school and uphold its values.
  • Demonstrate excellent standards of teaching and learning, with a passionate and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Possess outstanding communication skills and cultural sensitivity.

Minimum professional requirements:

  • First Language English Speaker.
  • A minimum of three years of full time teaching experience (Experience of teaching Cambridge or UK National curriculum would be an advantage).
  • First degree level in Education or equivalent plus teaching certificate.

Galaxy International School (GIS) is a private co-educational and not-for-profit day school that was established in 2014. Despite the fact that GIS has operated as an international school for several years only, its establishment as an educational institution goes back to 1996. From 1996 to 2014 it operated as a bilingual school offering Kazakh National Curriculum with Sciences and Mathematics being taught in English.
