Twyford CofE Academies Trust has been selected as the subject lead for English secondary curriculum for Oak National Academy to develop and produce high-quality resources for pupils in Years 7 – 11 for use nationally.

The highly aspirational and academically successful multi-academy Trust in Ealing is now looking to recruit English Teachers (Lesson Content Creators) to join the Twyford CofE Academies Trust Online English Team, to develop the Trust’s outstanding English curriculum into online resources. The Online English Team will be fully remote, however there will be access to meeting spaces in one of the four Twyford CofE Academies Trust Schools and some coworking will be encouraged. This is a one year fixed-term contract and is open to those who have the right to live and work in the UK. Successful candidates can be based anywhere in the UK.

The main role of a Lesson Content Creator is to design and create lesson resources which showcase best practice in subject and pedagogical expertise in English. Lesson resources include slide decks, worksheets, quizzes, associated lesson information and recorded video content. All resources must meet the quality guidance requirements of the Twyford CofE Academies Trust and Oak National Academy.

This is an exciting role for expert curriculum planners looking to work in an online, agile, fast paced environment. The post may also be suitable for teachers based in the West London area looking for a hybrid role: part-time teaching in one of the Trust schools and part time creating lesson content. The post-holder will be joining an innovative new team that seeks to deliver an outstanding online curriculum, and will be well supported by an experienced Senior Leadership Team.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A good degree and Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Ability to teach English to GCSE, teaching either AQA or Edexcel.
  • Knowledge of the requirements of the National Curriculum.
  • An understanding of recent curriculum / learning developments.
  • An understanding of the strategies required to motivate and enthuse all students across the ability range as part of a whole school approach to raising achievement.
  • Ability to be reflective and driven towards self-improvement.
  • Energy and enthusiasm.
  • A commitment to the ethos of the Trust.

Twyford CE Academies Trust

The Twyford Trust comprises four schools in the London Borough of Ealing. The Trust was established in October 2011 to enable an existing School, Twyford CE High School, to build on its successes and look outward to the large number of parents who were eager to become part of its community. The Twyford Trust aims to deliver outstanding education in a comprehensive school setting, and embraces the Twyford School motto ‘Life in all its fullness’, encouraging students to use their individual gifts wisely and well. Supported by the London Diocesan Board for Schools (LDBS), the Trust is the overarching organisation which provides support for all Trust schools. The Trust has a highly evolved common curriculum which has been devised by staff within the four schools. Oak National Academy

Oak National Academy was set up in April 2020 as a rapid response to the coronavirus outbreak to provide accessible electronic lessons for all and has become the new national body supporting curriculum. The government is making a significant investment in Oak to create national resources from KS1 – 4 in every subject by the end of the next academic year.
