About the Post

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join our British-Chinese bilingual primary school based in the beautiful coastal city of Lianyungang.

We require a teacher of English for our newly created British-Chinese bilingual primary school to teach English to Grades 1 and 2 from March 2018. We are seeking individuals with the potential to support senior staff with the challenges of setting up a new department in a newly created school.

We aspire to provide our young people with skills they need to learn and compete successfully in an international climate. Our mission is to create a stimulating and caring learning environment where students cover the full local curriculum and have access to international teachers and courses designed to help them become well-rounded and respectful global citizens.

Our school curriculum expertly combines Chinese Curriculum requirements with an integrated menu of enrichment. Our students begin their English language learning when they join us in Grade 1. We believe that this early enrichment which combines synthetic phonics and established language programmes provides the best possible foundation for effective English learning and teaching.

You will work with our Leadership Team to establish a world-class English department with the aim of giving our students an early linguist advantage over their peers. Ideally you will already have experience of successfully working in a team of English specialists in China or an international school. We are looking for well organised and motivated individuals who can use their initiative and maintain high standards.

It will be an advantage to have worked with students in Early Years settings or Grade 1 and have a good working knowledge of English phonetics teaching.

• Be qualified in the UK with a BA in Education, English or Modern Languagage
• Have a minimum of 2 years experience as a teacher of English
