About TASIS The American School In England

First founded in 1976, TASIS The American School in England (otherwise known as TASIS England) is an independent school in the village of Thorpe, Surrey. The school provides an American-style education to its students, following an American curriculum. As a result, the majority of the school’s students are American, although there is still a significant international contingent. The school’s campus occupies 46 acres of land, close to Royal Holloway University. TASIS England has around 800 pupils on roll, with a minority of these being boarding students.

Values and Vision

TASIS England seeks to provide a high-quality US-style education to its pupils, while keeping them active and informed about their local community. The school makes extensive use of the wide range of modern facilities available on campus in order to achieve this, with students having the option of a wide range of sports opportunities and extra-curricular activities. In terms of curriculum, older students at the school have the option of taking the International Baccalaureate, a two-year course widely recognised by a huge range of international higher-education institutions.

Inspection

“The school provides an outstanding quality of education. Consistently high quality teaching supported by an outstanding curriculum ensures students achieve exceptionally well during their time at school. Excellent systems ensure that those students who have additional learning needs are exceptionally well supported. Additionally, the Learning Support Centre supports boarders by providing them with the study skills they need to succeed in class”
