We are seeking to appoint an inspirational teacher of English to lead on an aspect of the English curriculum. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach KS3 & 4 English across all age and ability ranges.   

You will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with the ability to lead and influence others to achieve exceptional performance, holding them accountable to the highest expectations for their own practice with respect to literacy and the learning of the students in their classes. 

The English department offers English Language, English Literature, Drama and Media and is one of the most consistently successful departments in the school.  In 2017, the department achieved 80% 4+ and 64% 5+ in GCSE English.    

Prendergast Vale School is an all through school, nursery to Year 11; this is an exciting time to join our school following our recent ‘Good’ Ofsted in February 2018. You will be part of a transformative team in its commitment to Outstanding provision and outcomes for all students.  The school benefits from being part of the Leathersellers’ Federation of Schools.  

Our school motto is “We are forever learning” and the successful candidate will be expected to be committed to their own professional development. We are committed to providing excellent CPD for Middle Leaders and offer the accredited National Award for Middle Leaders (NPQML) to all Middle Leaders.  We offer a comprehensive and supportive induction programme for all new members of staff.  You will also have access to a rich and varied CPD programme within the school and across the Federation.
