An exciting opportunity for a Teacher, has arisen in Crieff High School’s Pupil Support Area Facility.

Crieff High has approximately 600 young people some of whom have a range of additional support needs.

These needs are wide ranging. The young people learn in modern environments set in the new school building within a Community Campus.

Crieff High School is an inclusive school, with an inviting atmosphere, learning is inspired and people are invested in.

We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication skills, a strong background of innovative and engaging learning and teaching experiences and a working knowledge of leading aspects of school improvement and self-evaluation.

Requirements
The successful applicant will ideally
• have experience of teaching young people with difficulties consistent with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
• be responsible for managing the learning of young people with a range of additional support needs including in mainstream learning environments.
• have skills in delivering learning experiences which are engaging and challenging.
• be able to display skills in collaborative working and working with parents in a supportive and engaging manner.
• have a range of strategies to ensure that young people are healthy, safe, engaged and achieving.
Responsibilities

You will be responsible for leading and managing support for young people, particularly in the ASN area and liaising with parents, partners and other staff within the school.
You will be supported by a pupil support assistant and other staff to ensure that young people's needs are met.
You will contribute to staff development to enhance their professional knowledge and skills offering opportunities for further development as required.

About Crieff High School

Crieff High School is a mixed, mainstream, non-denominational, secondary school with a sixth form in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It caters to students aged 11 to 18 and has approximately 594 pupils enrolled. 

Crieff High School is part of the Strathearn Community Campus, opened in November 2009. It’s one of 11 secondary schools administered by Perth and Kinross Council. The school boasts indoor sports facilities including a heated swimming pool, squash courts, fitness suite, dance studio and sports halls, playing fields and a recording studio and theatre area.

The school’s main aim is to provide a caring, friendly community and to make sure the staff and pupils have a positive relationship.
