Job overview

We are seeking a well-organised, capable and self-motivated individual to join our Careers Team.

As Enrichment & Placement Coordinator, you will take a lead role in organising ‘Project and Placement Week’ for our lower sixth students. The week will take place in June 2020 and aims to immerse students in the world of work and get them thinking about the future. This is the first year we are running the scheme therefore a lot of work will be required to set-up and administer the project.

The Enrichment & Placement Coordinator role also involves coordinating the college’s Enrichment Programme. Enrichment sessions vary, for example sports teams, Duke of Edinburgh, dance leaders. Students choose enrichment/s in addition to their academic studies. It will be your role to ensure the smooth running of the programme by liaising with all staff involved.

Another element of the Enrichment & Placement Coordinator role is to organise extended work placements as part of a T Level pilot the college is participating in. This involves working with teachers to identify suitable students and building links with employers to secure high quality work placements. You will also be required to monitor the placements and report back to the Capacity and Delivery Fund.

As part of the Careers team, you will get involved with events and help out where needed with general duties.

The Careers team organise careers talks and a series of events throughout the college year e.g. Careers & Apprenticeship Fair, HE Fairs and Work Experience Fair. Links with local employers are well established and the team constantly seek ways to forge new links. Careers talks include those from local and national employers but also speakers from universities.

Given the varied nature of the role the successful candidate must be approachable and have a pro-active and flexible attitude to all tasks. In return you will work alongside experienced and supportive colleagues.

The post is to provide part-time maternity cover for 25 hours per week, term-time only, beginning in November 2019 and ending June 2020, or whenever the post-holder returns from maternity leave, whichever is sooner.

Closing Date: Midnight, Sunday 6th October 2019

Please ensure you use the Supporting Statement of the Application Form to explain how your skills, experience and attributes make you suitable for the post. Please do not include a C.V.

Interviews are provisionally arranged for: Monday 14th October 2019
