Job overview

We are looking for an experienced estates manager to join our central team in the newly created role as Estates Manager for our primary academies. This is a new and exciting role created due to the growing number of primary academies within the Federation, and the successful applicant will join a small specialist team and play a key role in our central estates management, leading on all aspects of facilities and property management across a cluster of existing and new Primary academies.

Your opportunity

Reporting to the Estates Manager, you will lead on all aspects of site and building management across our primary academies, providing support to academy site managers in relation to upkeep, care, maintenance and health and safety of academies sites. The role will support Principals and academy site managers on all staff issues including recruitment, performance management and training.

What we are looking for

We are looking for an individual with experience and a genuine interest in school premises management. With knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and requirements, the postholder will need to possess general maintenance experience and the ability to deal with external contractors. This role would likely an individual with:

  • Experience of successfully managing premises staff, preferably within an educational establishment.
  • Good communication skills, be able to work well within a team and be prepared to deal with occasional emergencies occurring outside normal working hours. 
  • Ability to monitor and report on structural faults/repairs

Whilst experience is important we are looking for someone who is motivated and keen to learn and develop their skills and experience. Training can be provided for any gaps in knowledge.
