The John Lyon School is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and proactive individual to join the existing Estates Team.

Working predominantly at the main campus, the Estates Operative will assist with the completion of planned maintenance, emergency repairs, caretaking, security and property upkeep. The successful individual will be expected to undertake basic general maintenance involving plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry tasks. The post holder will also be expected to work on own initiative ensuring that routine and non-routine tasks

are carried out and resolved with a timely can-do approach.

Candidates must be able to work as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication and organisational skills and be comfortable liaising with pupils, parents, alumni, contractors and other third party users of the School’s buildings and facilities.

The successful candidate must possess a current driving licence.

Hours: 40 hours per week x 52 weeks per annum
Actual salary: c. £23,000 per annum.
