Big Creative Training (BCT) job specification -  Events Assistant Lead Tutor


Big Creative Training is a well-established and expanding creative industry training provider with a long track record of delivering positive outcomes for learners. Our mission is to improve the lives of young people through high quality training and creative industry experiences. 


We have more than 400 young people per year going through our vocational training programmes including apprenticeships, and they all take qualifications in maths and English. We have great industry links and work with over 100 creative sector employers and SMEs. 


We are now looking for an outstanding Events Assistant Level 3 tutor to join our team based in Walthamstow, East London. 


You will need to have a strong understanding of live events, planning, producing and execution of an event. You are likely to have at least 2 years experience of event management. Equally you will understand the core elements of teaching. 


This is an exciting opportunity to Teach, within a successful and supportive framework. Candidates will have maths and English at GCSE grade “C” or 4 and above, and will be educated to degree level with evidence of outstanding practice working in a similar environment.


Key tasks

(Lead Tutor)

• Plan & deliver an engaging Events course 

• Provide apprentices with developmental feedback

• Deliver in accordance with structure & guidance provided by BCT Teaching & Learning Lead / Ofsted good practice


Desired qualities

• Strong event delivery experience in the wider and creative industries

• Teaching & Delivering courses to learners from all backgrounds

Salary and days of work

• This is a part time position 2 days per month at a day rate of £160 – freelance on invoice

• Start date 1st September + 3 planning days in August. 

• Additional event tutor opportunities available on other BCE programmes

Welcome to Big Creative Training (BCT). We opened in 1999 to offer courses to disadvantaged young people and those not engaged in education, and while this is still at the very heart of what we do, we now provide courses to learners from all backgrounds and at all levels. We offer access to opportunities in the creative and cultural industries such as games design, media, music production and performance, and performing arts.
