Required initially for the summer series of examinations (between mid May and mid June) though preferably also thereafter on a casual basis, Dorset Studio School now seeks to add to its existing team of examination invigilators. 

The school at present is a 13-19 co-ed school sited on the beautiful Kingston Maurward College Campus. In September 2019 it will change to a 11 - 16 school with 11 - 19 on the whole campus.  Examination invigilators can benefit from flexible work, being part of a friendly and professional team working in a stunning location.

Experience is not required as full training will be provided. An ideal candidate will be flexible, have effective communication skills and be a confident and a reassuring presence to candidates in exam rooms

Main duties

1. To conduct examinations in accordance with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ), awarding body and [insert centre name] instructions. 

2. To play a key role in upholding the integrity of the examination/assessment process 

Other

• to attend training, update or review sessions as required

• to undertake, where required and where able, other duties requested by the exams officer, for example

o supervision of clash candidates between exam sessions

o facilitating access arrangements for candidates, for example as a reader, scribe etc. (full training will be provided)

• other exams-related administrative tasks

Invigilators are paid at Grade 3 £7.90ph (invigilators will be paid for a minimum of three hours for each summer examination session, even where an examination is significantly shorter than this)

The Dorset Studio School opened in September 2014, welcoming students to a brand new specialist school designed to equip young people with the skills, knowledge and experience they require to succeed in work.

Dorset Studio School offers this new concept in education, where 11–16 year olds can benefit from a different model of learning that captures and channels potential to the highest levels. Dorset Studio School is an Academy and part of a national network of similar schools supported by the Studio Schools Trust.

In partnership with Kingston Maurward Agricultural College, young people have the opportunity to complete their 11-19 studies, within a fully operational, commercial environment, which provides hands on learning in the rural industries.

Located in Dorchester, in the heart of Dorset, the Studio School who specialise in environment and land-based sciences. The school  explores how the land works to deliver educational excellence and opportunity by making the most of our rich natural resources while responding to employer and wider community needs.
