Inspire their remarkable with us

This is a perfect opportunity for graduates or university students!

At Kingsley Academy, we are a school on a journey. We are a comprehensive community school, located in the heart of Hounslow in West London, just beside Hounslow East tube station. Since opening in 2013, a lot has been done to develop our school but there is much still to do to achieve the success which we know our school is capable of.

Previously, our school has been judged as Requires Improvement twice in a row and has an unwarranted reputation locally as a challenging school. However we have just been judged by Ofsted in October 2019, as a Good school for the first time in our schools history. Visitors to our school without exception comment on our students’ terrific attitudes and thirst for learning. An absolute strength of our school are our students. They are overwhelmingly polite, respectful, considerate and eager to learn. Low level disruption is rare and our students are committed to their learning.

Our new Headteacher joined the academy in February 2019, and has been clear on our vision and how we get there. Our aim is to establish Kingsley as a ‘A school at the heart of our community, developing knowledge, ambition and kindness to prepare students for success at university and the world beyond’. We are passionate about achieving social justice for our students and firmly believe that it should not be about where you come from that determines how successful you are in life.

We are pleased to be able to offer an opportunity to join our friendly, happy team of Exam Invigilators.  This is a casual, ad hoc post and we are looking to add another 10 Exam Invigilators to our team.

About the role:

  • In this position, you will provide invigilation for external examinations at the school. The exam invigilator is responsible for picking up the exams material prior to the exam, distributing the material to the candidates, supervising the exam for the duration of the scheduled time and returning all exam materials to the exams officer at the end of the allocated time.
  • Morning Session - 8:30 am to 11:30 am – Afternoon Session – 1:00 pm to 4.00 pm
  • Negotiated earlier starts or extensions to 5:30 pm.
  • Full or half day sessions are offered at a minimum of 3 hours per day.
  • If working a full day, there is a 45 minute unpaid lunch break at some stage around midday.

This position is required to commence as soon as possible.

Closing date: Monday 24 February 2020

This improvement marks the start of an incredibly exciting journey at Kingsley Academy and an opportunity to be part of something much bigger with our next target of 90% of students achieving 4+ in English and Maths by 2028.

Kingsley Academy has grown significantly in numbers over the last three years and we are now full in every year group with a waiting list across all years demonstrating the successes the school has seen and the positive culture the school promotes. Kingsley Academy is inclusive, supportive and truly serves the local community.

With our curriculum offer we give students the opportunity to pursue the courses of their choice at GCSE, A Level and then have the chance to attend the most prestigious universities. This year we have had students leave Kingsley to attend Oxford, King’s College and Edinburgh. Behaviour for Excellence

The behaviour of students at our school is exceptional and we have disruption free classrooms. Our disruption free classrooms allow teachers to teach great lessons, take risks and never lower standards or expectations. We believe in disruption free classrooms, every lesson, every day.

Ofsted

When Inspectors visited in October 2019 and stated that ‘the school has rapidly transformed in a short period of time, behaviour is consistently strong and a culture of respect, collaboration and mutual support permeates the school’.
