Job overview

Michaela Community School is looking for reliable exam invigilators to help us with our GCSE and A-Levels in summer 2022.

We are looking for people who are flexible, confident, punctual, and highly dependable. We will need you to be able to commit to at least half of the exam days from 16th May until 27th June and a training day in May. 

Experience is not required, as training will be provided.  To apply, send us your CV. You do not need to send a cover letter.

Main duties

Before exams

• To report to the exams officer prior to each examination

• To ensure exam rooms are properly set out to standard

• To assist with the distribution of exam papers and materials to candidates

During exams

• To supervise candidates at all times and be vigilant throughout exams

• To record/report any disruption or irregularities

• To complete attendance registers

After exams

• To collect exam scripts

• To dismiss candidates from the exam room

• To securely return all exam scripts and exam materials to the exams officer

Michaela Community School is an exciting and successful free school that opened in September 2014 in Wembley, and is rated Outstanding by Ofsted. You may have heard of us: our Headmistress, Katharine Birbalsingh, is often in the news saying things that others find controversial but that we think are common sense. In 2023, our Progress 8 at GCSE was 2.37, the highest Progress 8 in the country. Nearly three quarters of our GCSE papers achieved a 7 to 9 grade. We also got 94% grade 5s in English and Maths. Our A level results were equally impressive with three quarters of our A-Level exams graded A* or A, and 75% of students went on to Russell Group universities, including Oxbridge, Imperial and LSE.

The ambition of our vibrant and energetic team is to transform the lives of all children, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Many of us are Teach First Ambassadors. Some of us are not.
