Job overview

Rethinking education, helping tomorrow’s citizens flourish.

Drawing upon our partnership with the University of Birmingham and their world-leading research and best-practice resources, focusing on learning without limits, and combining our own diverse experience in education, the University of Birmingham School is setting an example of what’s truly possible for secondary school education – one that gives character development as much attention as academic success.

Are you a highly organised professional with an eye for detail thinking of a new professional challenge come January? The University of Birmingham School has an opportunity for you to join our professional services team as Examinations and Data Processing Officer. Based in Selly Oak, the School has 1180 students aged 11-18, and prepares its young people for GCSE, BTEC, and A Level qualifications. As an all ability, inclusive School, we also have a number of learners with additional educational needs eligible for access arrangements and individual support.

You may already be experienced in examinations administration and/or data management and systems, although that is not essential as we are able to train our new team member, working closely with our Director of Information and Systems and other leaders - themselves experienced in this work. Moreover, a go-get attitude and an aptitude to support children calmly and positively in examination settings will be prerequisite to your success.

The core of the role is ownership of the examinations processes and arrangements across the School – but we recognise that the needs and demands from this work vary seasonally across the year. Therefore, other duties will support the Director of Information and Systems, with in-year pupil admissions, and wider data entry and processing. Again, training will be provided in these areas where beneficial.

We will have high expectations of you to be an outstanding role model committed to the distinctive ethos of our School. In return, we will recognise your contribution through an enhanced package of pay and benefits subject to performance.
