‘There is a culture of high expectations and ambition that is shared by staff. Everyone wants the best for the pupils’ Ofsted 2016
Broadlands Academy is an 11-16 learning community and proud to be part of Academies Enterprise Trust family of schools. We serve the communities in and around Keynsham in Bristol
As a smaller than average school we are fortunate to be able to really get to know each and every student. Over the last 3 years we have made great strides in school improvement and we believe we are at an exciting stage of our development. Our GCSE results in 2017 were pleasing and we were delighted that a greater number of students than the national average have achieved the new ‘9’ grade (above an A* standard) in both English and Maths. An amazing 10% of students achieved over 8 GCSEs at a grade A or higher.
We are seeking to appoint a well organised, driven and efficient support professional to become our new Examinations, Careers and Guidance and Work Experience Officer. This is a varied role where all three parts are just as important – so if having a role where no two days are the same then we want to hear from you!
The working hours are 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, 8.30am to 4.00pm on Friday (excluding 30 minute lunch break).
You will join a school where all colleagues play their part and contribute to whole school improvement through our distributed leadership model. If you embody these values and have high expectations, you will be very successful working with us.
You will manage and be responsible for all aspects of external and internal examinations as well as organising the careers guidance given to our students and arranging and developing work experience placements.
We welcome applications from colleagues who are working within a school environment as well as colleagues who have data and organisation skills outside of education.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of working in administration for at least 2 years.
- Experience of organising a series of events for a number of people e.g. exams.
- High standards and an ability to juggle multiple tasks at once.
If you are looking for a role where you can have impact and support the Academy in moving forward, we would like to hear from you! Visits are welcomed – please contact Hannah Steer (Principal’s PA) at firstname.lastname@example.org
Closing date for completed applications: Sunday 29 October 2017
Interviews to be scheduled: W/C 30 October 2017
