Lytchett Minster is a very successful and popular comprehensive school with a large and thriving sixth form situated just outside Poole, Dorset. We were judged to be ‘good’ by OFSTED (May 2017). We are a foundation state school and will provide over 1,500 places for students aged 11-18, when fully subscribed.

At Lytchett, we pride ourselves on our high standards. This manifests itself in a positive work ethic, strong moral values, excellent behaviour and a profound respect for the rights and dignity of others.

Students at Lytchett are extremely well cared for. Our house system is very much a strength of the school, providing every student with a sense of belonging and of being valued as an individual.

We have an excellent and highly motivated team of staff who are totally committed to their students and are passionate about their subjects. The quality of teaching and learning is demonstrated by our excellent exam results, particularly in the sixth form, where our A-level results compare favourably with the best in the country.

We offer a broad and balanced curriculum. We expect our students to leave Lytchett as well-educated, well-rounded, polite, sophisticated young adults, highly literate and numerate, with an appreciation of aesthetic values and an understanding of the wonders of modern science and technology.

We offer an enormous range of extra-curricular clubs, activities and trips. Students are encouraged to get fully immersed in the cultural and sporting life of the school. We are very much about educating the ‘whole child’ and providing them with outstanding and memorable learning opportunities.

The learning environment is nothing short of inspirational.  Our buildings provide the perfect blend of the very best in traditional and modern architectural design.
