Job overview

Outwood Academy Bydales is an 11-16 school located in the beautiful coastal village of Marske-by-the-Sea, close to the North York Moors National Park. We are extremely proud of our tradition of serving the families of the community of Marske and surrounding areas. The academy has been part of Outwood Grange Academies Trust, nationally recognised as a high performing academy chain, since September 2014.

Due to our current Officer relocating in February 2023, we require a new Exams and Assessment Officer to start in January 2023 to ensure a successful handover.

We are seeking to appoint an intelligent, enthusiastic and flexible individual to join our support team. Supported by a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data & Exams Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the running and administration of internal and external examinations and maintaining accurate student records.

You will be a highly organised and experienced administrator, have excellent communication skills, with the ability to remain composed in a busy environment. Strong IT skills specifically in Microsoft Office are essential and experience of SIMS would be an advantage but is not essential as training will be provided on all aspects of the role.

You must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of ‘Students First’. The ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team is essential, as you will work alongside a team of exam invigilators. Experience of working in a similar role or environment would be an advantage, but we would also welcome applications from anybody who is considering a change in career and feels they can learn quickly with a high level of support.

Outwood Academy Bydales utilises OGAT’s established suite of pre-built analysis reporting tools; the successful candidate will be responsible for populating and maintaining these tools as part of raising student progress and achievement.

We believe that all teaching and support staff posts within our Family of Schools are key posts in terms of supporting student success and achievement across a broad range of subjects and experiences. As such we are keen to recruit dedicated and ambitious professionals who will add value to our Academy in both academic terms and through involvement in the fabric of learning and success beyond the classroom.

To arrange a tour of the academy or if you would like to discuss the role further, please contact our Vice Principal Jo ferris on j.ferris@bydales.outwood.com or our Business Manager, Alex Todd a.todd@bydales.outwood.com

Alternatively, you can contact the Academy by telephone on 01642 474000

For more information and to apply online, please go to: www.outwood.com > Careers.

Closing date: 9.00am on 7 December 2022.

We are an Outstanding, 11-16 academy based in the picturesque coastal village of Marske-by-the-Sea, close to the stunning North York Moors National Park. We have been part of the Outwood family of schools since 2014.

Since joining the Outwood Family, we have gone from strength to strength and we have seen improvement across all areas of school life. We believe in a collaborative approach, where we all support each other, staff and students, to achieve. During Ofsted’s last inspection, we were proud when the inspectors noted that the school’s ‘leaders are ambitious’ and ‘have high expectations of each other, staff and pupils.’ These expectations are the foundations of a true, supportive and collaborative approach.

We are proud that Outwood Academy Bydales is rated Outstanding by Ofsted and in its latest report, Ofsted noted that ‘staff morale is extremely high’ at the academy and that with help from other members of the Outwood Family, we provide our staff with a varied training programme.

We have also won numerous awards as a school and we have been accredited with the prestigious IQM Award, which highlights that inclusion at all levels is of paramount importance to us. We are also proud to have been awarded Silver Status by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health Award.

We have achieved our success while fostering a hard-working school community that is welcoming and friendly, allowing students and staff to make excellent progress together.

Put simply, we know our remarkable achievements would not have been possible without the fantastic efforts from our colleagues. Help to take us to the next level.

The Outwood Family of Schools pride ourselves on fully supporting colleagues within the Family both professionally and personally.

We work hard to ensure we reduce workload on staff, allowing more time in the classroom to put our vision of students first, raising standards and transforming lives into practice.

As a founding Trust of the National Institute of Education (NIoT), we will actively invest in your future through working closely with the Outwood Institute of Education and NIoT to offer access to a wide range of CPD opportunities, with all teaching staff receiving a minimum of two hours of CPD each week.

We also offer a generous employment package with a whole host of staff benefits, including family friendly policies, enhanced occupational benefits available (such as maternity, adoption and parental leave) with no qualifying period, funded CPD for qualifications up to and including Masters level plus other exclusive benefits including a partnership with car leasing company, Synergy.
