What we are looking for: 

The College is looking to appoint a motivated, experienced and enthusiastic Examinations Officer to support the operation of the school’s examination process. The successful candidate will have, enthusiasm and commitment; excellent organisational skills; good interpersonal skills and be a team player. The role will involve working alongside the Systems & Data Manager. Previous experience of working within an educational setting is desirable. 

The successful applicant will:

  • Has experience in using up-to-date ICT systems such as Microsoft Office, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Has an in-depth of knowledge of databases and report-running, particularly in relation to Microsoft Excel.
  • Has experience co-ordinating, large on-going administrative tasks.
  • Has knowledge of SIMS 
  • Has high levels of organisation, is a logical, systematic thinker and a quick learner
  • Has experience in managing a large workload, multiple complex tasks and responding to changing priorities with a proven ability to meet required deadlines.

Sir John Hunt is a non-denominational, co-educational secondary with sixth form in Plymouth, Devon. As of the most recent inspection there were 728 students on the school roll, of which 168 were in sixth form. The school is located next to Whitleigh Community Primary School. The school is named for British Army officer who is best known as the leader of the successful 1953 British Expedition to Mount Everest, in which Edmund Hillary became the first man to reach the summit. The school motto is ‘to greater heights’.

Our most recent Ofsted inspection was a great success and recognised the commitment of our staff to improving the College and securing the very best outcomes for our students. The College was judged to be ‘Good’ across all areas inspected.
