Job overview

We are looking for an experienced Exams Officer who will be responsible for all aspects of running both internal and external examinations at the School, including the administration of exams, liaison with examination boards and data management.

Reporting to the Director of Studies and ICT, the Exams Officer works closely with a number of departments, school staff and pupils to ensure that all aspects of internal and external exams run smoothly, enabling our staff to be supported and for our pupils to excel.

In addition to the above, the Exams Officer will also liaise with parents and/or guardians and the relevant awarding bodies and agencies. As a result, you must be highly organised with a key eye for detail and have the ability to relate to a wide range of stakeholders, be they staff, pupils, parents/guardians and relevant contacts. You would also be expected to support the recruitment, training and management of invigilators(s) where applicable.

The nature of the role requires the willingness to be flexible in working variable hours across the year with some longer days needed during the examination season and some work being required during School holidays and at October half term.

In return, as well as job satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment, we can offer a competitive salary, a pension scheme, staff fee remission on school fees both at King Edward’s and our partner school Barrow Hills, free car parking, free use of our gym, swimming pool and sports facilities, all meals and snacks on duty and a Cycle to Work Scheme.

King Edward's School is a co-educational boarding and day 11–18 school for some 400 pupils, around 35% of whom are full boarders. We are an HMC school and proud of our unique heritage and place among British co-educational independent schools.

To apply, please complete the Application Form or for further details, visit our website www.kesw.org or contact the HR Department at HR@kesw.org or by telephone: 01428 686739.

Closing date: Noon on Tuesday 21st February 2023.

The School reserves the right to interview and appoint prior to the closing date; therefore, early applications are recommended.

King Edward’s Witley is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Please refer to our websites or ask HR for our child protection and rehabilitation of offenders policy. All successful applicants are required to complete an Enhanced disclosure through the DBS. Applicants from underrepresented groups are particularly welcome.
