Excellence Leader for Maths with Senior Leadership Development Pathway

Required 1st January 2023

The Bridge Academy Trust are looking to recruit an experienced, outstanding practitioner with ambitions to progress to a Senior Leadership position within three years. The role is available to teachers or leaders of Maths.

The role is an exciting opportunity to be one of the first practitioners to follow the new 2 – 3 year ‘Senior Leadership Development Pathway’. The programme aims offer a structured route to develop outstanding leaders in a collaborative and forward thinking Trust.

The successful candidate will be expected to complete a variety of roles including the delivery of high quality lessons in one of the BAT schools, the role of an Excellence Leader in their specialist subject area, and a Senior Leadership secondment whilst working towards the role of Assistant Headteacher.

The phased pathway involves:

• Year 1 – 4 days teaching and 1 day as Excellence Leader, which involves supporting curriculum development, improving the quality of teaching and learning plus coaching leaders in the BAT secondary schools.

• Year 2 – 3 days teaching, 1 day as an Excellence Leader and 1 day SLT secondment, either in the ‘home school’ or another BAT school to complete a specific project to support school development. Completion of the NPQSL programme.

• Year 3 – equivalent of approximately 50% teaching timetable plus an Assistant Headteacher role in one of the BAT schools, either on a permanent basis or secondment to support school development.

Candidates do not have to be a current Middle Leader to apply for this role.

The successful candidate will be part of the Central School Improvement Team, with a central contract rather than one linked to a specific school. Teaching deployment will be dependent on the needs of the BAT secondary schools at the time of the appointment.
