Job overview

The Riverside Federation was established in 2016 between Bodiam C E Primary School and Etchingham C E Primary School, following a successful partnership that began in 2010.

The Governors of The Riverside Federation are seeking to appoint an Executive Headteacher to develop our Federation further, whilst preserving the individuality of each of our schools.

Our Federation also works closely with four other small primary schools in the area and this is known as the Battle Outlying Small Schools (BOSS) Cluster.

Our schools are rated Ofsted ‘good’ and SIAMS ‘outstanding’. Both schools are in a sound financial position with excellent staff.

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead both schools to consolidate ‘good’ and move to ‘outstanding’
  • Strengthen ties with the local community
  • Fortify relationships with our parents and children
  • Reinforce partnerships with our collaboration schools
  • Provide robust strategic leadership and direction


In addition, you must be able to stay at the forefront of educational developments, establishing innovative methods to foster growth and learning for all.
