Executive Headteacher

The Weald FederationEast Sussex

The Federation Governing Board is seeking to appoint an experienced, capable, motivated and creative leader to fill the post of Executive Headteacher from September 2021.

Our Federation comprises Five Ashes, Frant, Mark Cross, and Mayfield Church of England Primary Schools, situated in some of the most picturesque villages in East Sussex. It is an established and successful partnership which is committed to providing the very best education opportunities for our pupils.

Our schools hold Church of England voluntary controlled/voluntary aided status and, in accordance with this, we celebrate diversity, respect freedom of religion and belief, and encourage others to contribute from the depths of their own traditions and understandings.

The new Executive Headteacher will relish the exciting challenge of leading and growing the Weald Federation of schools, developing the individual strengths of the four schools, whilst creating a new strategy to build on the benefits of collaboration and growing the federation.

You will be working with an established and energetic team of Heads of School, who not only oversee the management of their own schools but also look to support each other and the EHT in contributing to the Federation development, maximising the inherent benefits to be found in such a collaboration. In addition, we have a centralised administration team, comprising a Federation Business Manager and an Office and Personnel Manager.

With such support we are looking for an Executive Headteacher, who will focus on the strategic requirements of the role rather than day to day operational matters, be an excellent motivator of staff with the ability to delegate and monitor effectively, and be creative in managing the growth of our schools through marketing and promotion.

In addition, the new Executive Headteacher will find at our schools:

·        Dedicated and experienced teachers and support staff who work tirelessly for the good of the children.

·        Children who are well-motivated and keen to learn.

·        Supportive and enthusiastic parents.

·        Governors who are well-informed and fully engaged in the life and work of the schools.

·        A welcoming, caring and supportive environment based on mutual respect

We are an equal opportunity employer; as such all employment is decided on the basis of qualifications, merit and the needs of our schools.

If you think you are the sort of person we are looking for, we would welcome your application.
