The Governors of the Quercus Federation invite and welcome applications for the position of an Executive Headteacher, who will develop the federation while preserving the individuality of each school.

The children, parents, staff and governors are seeking to appoint an inspirational and dynamic Executive Headteacher to lead the two schools as they consolidate “Good” and move to reach “Outstanding”.

Hurst Green and Northiam are small Church of England VC Primary Schools each set in delightful grounds, in expanding villages, in rural East Sussex and located about 12 miles apart. Both schools have a distinct Christian ethos.

Quercus Federation was formed on 1st September 2016 and the joint Governing Body now seek a leader with flair and enthusiasm to: promote great learning; enthuse a vibrant and committed staff and engage with the wider community.

Candidates must have a proven record of leadership, supported by quality academic and teaching qualifications, plus experience of working across the Primary sector.

The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2009 Regulations inconnection with relevant childcare provision.  Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, bycompleting a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2009 Regulations.

If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2009 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.
