We wish to appoint an outstanding leader and inspirational strategic thinker with a clear vision, energy and fresh ideas to inspire staff to achieve an outstanding education for young people and lead Haybrook College through the next stage of its exciting development. This includes a £5 million building project which you will lead and manage to enable the College to expand its current roll to meet the complex needs of young people in Slough.
Haybrook College is a large specialist Alternative Provision which delivers an exceptional education to many of the most vulnerable young people in Slough and to young people who display challenging behaviour due to a Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulty.
You should be a Headteacher looking to secure your second headship, an aspiring Deputy Head Teacher, or a manager in an equivalent senior role who has secured substantial successful leadership and management experience in at least two posts in a SEND or PRU setting that has led to raising standards in teaching and learning and whole school progress. You will provide the professional leadership, strategic direction and management of Haybrook College to achieve continued outstanding success. Your proven management skills must include strategic financial and human resources management.
You will be able to demonstrate you can successfully manage the learning of secondary school students who display complex behaviours due to a SEMH difficulty and ensure they continue to have their needs met through a range of physical and curriculum provisions. You will have worked at a senior and strategic level in either a secondary special school, pupil referral unit or in a mainstream setting.

It is essential that you have an excellent understanding of teaching and learning and can apply and lead staff to deploy the strategies required to overcome the barriers to learning that young people face and enable all students to achieve their full potential. You must also be highly numerate and possess a good understanding of how special schools and PRUs are funded. You will be capable of developing the existing culture of self-evaluation that leads to continuous improvements.
With strong influencing and outstanding interpersonal skills, and capable of working in effective partnership with schools, schools forum, Slough LA, close neighbouring boroughs and other relevant partners you will be driven to ensure that funding streams are available now and in the long term to provide outstanding outcomes for the young people at Haybrook College.
