St Mary's and Thorneyholme are welcoming schools, in beautiful rural locations, operating in collaboration. We offer a happy, caring and encouraging environment for learning underpinned by a strong Catholic ethos. Due to the retirement of our highly regarded Headteacher, the Governors are seeking to appoint an inspirational, enthusiastic and dedicated leader who will continue to develop our two very successful schools.

This a tremendous opportunity for candidates that are either seeking their first headship, or existing heads looking to extend their responsibilities in a new and welcoming environment. Our children are happy, confident and enthusiastic and are supported by dedicated hard working staff that are fully committed to raising standards. Our new Executive Headteacher will be supported by enthusiastic and involved governing bodies, parents and carers and our local communities and parishes.

We are looking for a strong collaborative leader who can challenge, inspire, lead and motivate staff and pupils and who has the strategic vision, ambition and motivation to lead and manage our collaboration.

Our new Executive Headteacher will:

- be a practising Catholic with a strong personal faith and a clear understanding of the intrinsic value of Catholic education

- be passionate in their belief that every child can and should achieve success

- have first class understanding and empathy for children and for the communities that the schools serve

- have strong communication skills and a commitment to develop a school community of pupils, parents, staff and governors

- have high expectations of themselves, pupils, parent/carers and staff.

St Mary's and Thorneyholme Catholic Primary schools are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all the children and we expect all staff and volunteers to share the same commitment. References will be checked before interview.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please visit our schools. Please contact our Executive Headteacher, Mrs Metcalfe on 01254 812543 (St Mary's) or 01200 448276 (Thorneyholme) to arrange a suitable time.
