Olive AP Academy – Thurrock is looking for an exceptional individual, from any school background, who is passionate about their vision for alternative provision and has the strategic skills and expertise to deliver on our high expectations. Significant resources have been poured into the Academy since conversion in April 2015. The foundations have been laid and a new spirit of moving forward is palpable, supported by a £4.25million new building, designed by pupils, staff, the Local Authority and the Olive Academies Trust.

As the first substantive Headteacher appointment for Olive Academies, this is a key appointment for the recently formed but highly successful multi-academy trust. You will work very closely with the CEO and play an integral role in shaping the strategic future of the Trust.

Olive Academies has a contract with Havering LA to support Manor Green College and has been named as Manor Green’s preferred sponsor. This relationship is integral to the Executive Headteacher role because the successful applicant will be expected to lead Olive AP Academy – Thurrock for four days a week and join the existing Olive Academies School Improvement Team for one day a week in Manor Green, Havering in the lead up to Academy conversion, expected within the year. The Trust is keen to explore whether the Executive Head role will extend to both Academies, subject to conversion.
