We are looking for a new Executive Head Teacher to oversee the management of Queensmead House school. With wonderful views of Windsor castle, the schools offers a truly inspirational environment for young people aged 5-19.

The role

As the Executive Head Teacher of our School in Windsor you’ll be resilient, innovative, inspiring and energised by the chance to lead a diverse school community. You will be an individual who is keen to embrace the challenge of shaping the future direction of our school. This is a strategic post: the successful candidate needs to have strong senior leadership experience, preferably at Headteacher level, with the skills and attributes to be innovative and creative, in order to develop robust systems and structures that deliver a high quality educational experience for all of the children in these schools.

With your leadership, staff will develop into excellent classroom practitioners. Meanwhile, you’ll excel at growing and leading a unique school and upholding the highest standards. Your challenge also involves building the commercial success of the school: you’ll aim for full occupancy, placement stability, cost efficiency and the development of growth plans.

Your profile:

  • you will have experience running a top Ofsted rated school for pupils  with SEMH
  • you're  dynamic and ambitious and looking for a new challenge beyond the headship of one school
  • you can lead and inspire others to achieve the best outcomes for the children across our primary and secondary school
  • you are ambitious and ready to navigate a whole new chapter in the Witherslack Group of Schools
  • you have a breadth of experience across both primary and secondary education phases
  • you're able to demonstrate effective leadership and management skills
  • you have the ability and passion to deliver an innovative and creative curriculum

  • you're is able to inspire, motivate, and mentor staff to share in developing the best leadership, teaching and learning

About Queensmead House School

The stunning Queensmead House School is on the same site as the former Queensmead School, which has wonderful views of Windsor Castle and offers a truly inspirational environment for our young people. Queensmead House School is a co-educational, independent specialist day school, providing the highest standards of education and care for children and young people, between the ages of 11 and 19 years, with complex educational needs, communication difficulties and challenging behaviours. The school will be one of our largest, with capacity of up to 130 young people, 90 of whom will be in the Secondary provision. We would expect the school to reach optimum capacity by 2024; that’s 130 children and young people’s lives we can make a real difference to across the region!

Like all of our schools, Queensmead House School will benefit from excellent staffing ratios, highly resourced learning environments and endless academic and vocational options. The site has been a school since 1948 and our property team are working to ensure that it offers an inspirational learning environment where our young people can thrive. The school will include a full size sports hall, MUGA, and specialist classrooms for science, food technology, DT and computing. Pupils will be supported in small class sizes (maximum of 8), by well qualified and experienced staff who are able to offer an extensive range of academic, practical, vocational, sport and leisure activities, to support both a young person’s educational achievements and social and communication skills.
