A unique opportunity has arisen for an exceptional Leader to join the Doncaster Deaf Trust, an internationally renowned Education, Training and Care Charity that has been based in the heart of Doncaster for the past 190 years.

The Trust owns and operates a non-maintained Special School (Doncaster School for the Deaf), an Independent Communication Specialist College, the  Little Learners Day Nursery and Residential Care facilities that provide education, training and care to pupils and students with hearing impairment, autism, learning disabilities and other communication needs.

Essentially, candidates will be:

  • Educated to a minimum degree standard;
  • Able to demonstrate an outstanding education and management track record;
  • Committed to continuing their professional development;
  • Able to evidence successful leadership in a multi-disciplinary environment and with a range of external partners, such as parents, Local Authorities and other educational and care agencies;
  • Able to demonstrate a rounded knowledge and understanding of the education and care system and (if not already qualified) be willing to commit to obtaining a post-graduate diploma in Hearing Impairment, Autism or SEN;
  • An education leader in possession of the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH), or be willing to obtain the qualification as soon as possible.
