Job overview

Flexible location + significant UK travel

Over the last 18 months, Catch22 has built a significant footprint in the alternative education provision sector for young people aged 4-18 through a combination of registered schools (all currently graded OFSTED good) and other contracted provisions.  As a result we are now looking to appoint an Executive Principal to provide inspirational leadership across our growing group of Independent Schools and Post 16 provision.

In 2013/14 alone we served more than 1,000 young people across 10 regions. We have recently developed our theory of change as a framework for managing our performance going forward. We have also developed a Blueprint for educational delivery codifying our model, underpinning a strong ethos and culture that will guide our work in the alternative education sector over the next 3–5 years.

As Executive Principal, we’ll rely on you to motivate head teachers, teachers and support staff to achieve long term, meaningful educational and personal outcomes for the young people we serve.

You will also:

  • Deliver and evaluate the developed strategy for Catch22 Independent Schools and Post 16 provision that delivers a single vision and ethos in line with our wider Education strategy.
  • Lead, manage and develop teams to deliver best practice and outstanding educational provision that’s underpinned by an innovative, engaging and inspiring curriculum.
  • Lead and manage a team of head teachers and lead teachers to successfully implement a strategy and operational plan in each school.
  • Engage with and develop long-term and lasting partnerships with Commissioners and other stakeholders at all levels.

As Executive Principal you will need:

  • A relevant qualification, outstanding leadership and people development skills and a track record in delivering consistent ‘best in class’ educational quality.
  • A proven ability to integrate diversity and cultural issues into planning, design and delivery underpinned by data driven performance management across all teams.
  • A flexible approach, a flair for conceptual thinking, lots of initiative, the ability to embrace change, great influencing and problem solving skills.
  • A passion for achieving positive outcomes for young people and service users.
  • Experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour , low aspiration, low levels of engagement and low attainment  is also desirable.

If you’ve got the skills we’re looking for, this is a great opportunity to make a difference to young people at a crucial time in their lives.

Catch22 is a forward looking social business; a not-for-profit business with a social mission. We have been at the heart of public service delivery for over 200 years, designing and delivering services that transform disadvantaged lives and build stronger communities.

In 2014/15, we worked with over 33,000 people across every stage of the social welfare cycle. Our reach gives us unique insight into the challenges facing disadvantaged people today.

Deadline for applications is on Monday 9th May 2016.

If you’re successful you may be required to consent to relevant checks by the Disclosure Barring Service and the young people you’ll be working with may have a say in your appointment. Equal and diverse, we see the potential in everyone.
