Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you a passionate Teaching Assistant looking for an opportunity in an SEN school? 

ABC Teachers part of TES are currently looking to recruit an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a Special Educational Needs school in Stoke-On-Trent. 

This role will begin as soon as possible, with a view to continue on an ongoing basis. This school caters for students with various SEN, namely being ASD, MLD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. 

You could be working with students from 5 to 19 years of age - due to this we ask that you have experience working within an SEN environment or with children who have learning difficulties. 

You will be providing support to the class teacher as well as working with students both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis to help them develop academically. It is a very friendly school environment to work in with support offered when needed. 

The ideal candidate –

·        Level 2 TA qualification

·        Deliver quality assistance to teacher(s) and pupil(s)

· Build rapport with the children

· In date DBS & on the Update Service     

· Experience in an SEN setting

What to do next:

To be considered for this position you will be required to attend a face to face registration and hold an enhanced DBS check in Child and Adult Workforce; you will need to pay for this upfront and add this to the Update Service.  At the registration we will discuss in more detail the work that you are looking for, your experience to date, and also how we are going to work best for you. 

We will need to gain references to cover the last 2 years, and a minimum of 2 references must be a school based. Our compliance team have a rigorous safeguarding and clearance process and this is how we know we are working with the best possible team of staff to employ in our schools.
