Seva Education is looking for an experienced teacher/SENDCO to join our senior leadership team.

Seva Education is growing to an all through provision and we have scope for our staff to grow with us. At Seva we work together and expect our staff to be friendly, happy and willing to help where the need is across our different sites.  Our pupils have SEMH needs and some with mild to moderate disabilities. We at Seva Education put the pupils at the heart of our decision making offering a curriculum tailored to their individual needs. We will hold interviews as soon as we receive applications which meet our shortlisting criteria, this may be before the stated closing date.

As our SENDCO you will require:

  • Teaching experience [a minimum of 3 years’]
  • Experience of working at a whole-school level with secondary pupils
  • Involvement in self-evaluation and development planning
  • Experience of conducting training/leading INSET
  • Experience of line-management responsibilities
  • Experience of a proven track record of successfully working with pupils who have SEMH needs and mild to moderate disabilities
  •  Sound knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
  • Understanding of what makes ‘quality first’ teaching, and of effective intervention strategies
  • Ability to plan and evaluate interventions and offer next steps
  • Data analysis skills, and the ability to use data to inform provision planning
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build effective working relationships
  • Ability to influence and negotiate
  • Good record-keeping skills and the ability to be flexible and use own initiative, at times working independently
