In September 2017, one of the largest alternative provision free schools in the country opens in Leeds. Part of the high performing GORSE Academies Trust, The Stephen Longfellow Academy will change the face of alternative provision education in Leeds, whilst at the same time changing the life chances of thousands of children in our city for ever.
The Stephen Longfellow Academy, will over time provide, 300 places spread evenly across Key Stages 1, 2, 3 and 4 with a determination to combine exceptional standards of therapeutic and psychiatric support with the very highest levels of academic ambition for every child. It is the Trust’s intention to look afresh at the whole concept of alternative provision and to establish a model of excellence which we believe will be of national significance.
We seek to appoint an experienced, proven and well-qualified Teacher of English from either a mainstream or special/alternative provision, who is passionate about working with young people of all abilities. You may come from either a mainstream or special/alternative provision, and are confident to deliver high quality teaching and learning within the AP setting. As a teacher working with vulnerable and disenfranchised pupils you will be able to impact significantly on their personal growth and well-being and go beyond teaching your subject.
