Do you have what it takes to teach at the TBAP Golborne Centre, and be a part of the highest performing AP academy chain in the country led by Seamus Oates, an Executive Head Teacher of national standing?

This job is about more than teaching in the. It’s about turning around the lives of vulnerable learners. Yes, it’s a big challenge. But it’s also an inspiring opportunity to teach SEMH learners.

At TBAP Multi-Academy Trust, we already know what it takes to achieve results like that. The trust includes the Bridge and Courtyard AP Academies, which have both been judges ‘outstanding’ in all areas by Ofsted.

The Golborne Centre is a small, short term SMEH provision for secondary school students. It provides full-time educational support to learners from the 6th day of a fixed-term exclusion, and managed intervention placements for a maximum of five weeks. The purpose of a managed intervention is to support learners in addressing negative patterns of behaviour in order to return to their mainstream schools.

We are now recruiting for an experienced Teacher to join the small team at the Golborne Education Centre. This individual will support the smooth running of a successful provision, delivering an interactive curriculum and supporting the thinking behind our success!

Learning is at the heart of our approach. Yes, we recognise the issues, difficulties and challenges that our students face. But we are absolutely clear they are here to make progress in their learning.

That vision will underpin your work as you take our approach and roll it out in this TBAP provision.

TBAP delivers Alternative Provision Education across four London Boroughs and in Cambridge. We have number of exciting programmes including a growing Teaching School Alliance, an innovative educational Residence and a 16-19 Academic AP Academy.

Are you an outstanding teacher with a passion for achieving the best possible outcomes for excluded learners and those with SMEH? Are you a teacher with an established track record of delivering excellence? Are you hungry for a new challenge? Would you welcome an opportunity to help lead an established AP academy to be ‘outstanding‘ and beyond?

If you share our vision and hopes for our learners, we would like to hear from you.

We are keen to interview candidates who are resilient, show initiative and believe they have the potential to deliver outstanding outcomes.

Please visit our website www.tbap.org.uk for application documents and more information about TBAP Multi-Academy Trust.

Closing date for receipt of applications: 30th April 2016
Interviews will be held week commencing: 9th May 2016

The TBAP Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS disclosure will be requested for the successful candidate in accordance with Safeguarding Children and Safer Recruitment in Education legislation.

About TBAP Multi-Academy Trust

TBAP Multi-Academy Trust was established in 2013 with the aim of delivering outstanding outcomes for some of the most challenging learners in West London. Using a highly personalised curriculum, 21st century learning spaces, expert practitioners and therapeutic interventions we achieve staggering progress over time with our learners.

We are a multi academy trust and approved DfE academy sponsor. We have established some of the first alternative provision (AP) academies in the country, including the Bridge AP Academy and the Courtyard AP Academy in Hammersmith and Fulham; both rated as Outstanding in All Areas by Ofsted. In April 2014 we converted two more, Latimer AP Academy in Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, and Beachcroft AP Academy in Westminster; raising the status of both to Good within a year. We recently took over as sponsors and converted another AP Academy, Octagon AP Academy in Haringey and have also been awarded a contract in Cambridge to manage their alternative provision which will commence in September 2015. In addition, we support learners in mainstream schools through our expert outreach teams.

We believe passionately in providing the best opportunities for staff and learners to develop to their full potential. Staff will benefit from a leading edge alternative provision CPD programme and will be working alongside some of the most respected practitioners in this field.

“Learners are enabled to transform their attitudes to learning and show outstanding achievement.”

“Teachers have the highest expectations and work extremely effectively with other staff in the academy, such as the mentors, learning support staff and therapists.”

“Outstanding teamwork supports and engages learners, who develop obvious trust in the adults they meet daily.”
Ofsted 2013  The Bridge AP Academy

“The core principles and success of the PPRU can be summed up in a comment from a pupil to the inspector when he said that he felt more confident now to do well back in his own school.” Ofsted 2012. PPRU (Courtyard AP Academy)

“When I first heard of the school I was strongly against it, but now I feel that it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to my son.” Parent of a Bridge AP Academy learner

“Behaviour and safety is outstanding. As a result of intensive training, all staff deploy positive and highly effective strategies to praise pupils' efforts so they know what it means to be a successful learner.” Ofsted 2012. PPRU (Courtyard AP Academy)
