Hydesville is a very successful Independent Co-Educational Day School for pupils aged 3-16. Our pupils are highly motivated and a delight to teach. They make excellent progression during their time with us.

A Cognita School.

Cognita is a global leader in independent education. Founded in 2004, Cognita is a growing family of 68 schools in seven countries in Europe, Latin America and South-East Asia, serving some 30,000 pupils. Although Cognita's schools are very different, they share a commitment of 'inspiring and empowering children within a caring environment to achieve more than they believe possible'. Cognita underpins its work by continually striving to live out the values of excellence, respect, integrity, collaboration and accountability.

Over the years, Cognita has championed the values that are important to millions of parents. These include the basic skills of literacy and numeracy; a broad and balanced curriculum which excites all children and captures their imagination; and a secure, disciplined learning environment in which each child is known and valued.

A Cognita education:

  •  pursues academic excellence for every child;
  • develops character;
  • provides enrichment opportunities beyond the classroom;
  • connects pupils with the global community.

Cognita's commitment to children is driven by teaching excellence. Cognita understands the difference that great teaching makes, and knows that teachers are central to unlocking the potential of every child in its 68 schools. Cognita's commitment to its staff is therefore equally strong, and the group offers first class career opportunities with a global dimension.

'The Cognita Way' underpins teaching excellence with energised leadership, innovation, personalised learning, efficient systems, people growth and by fostering the community.

The Group aims to implement seven key strategies in all its schools in order to deliver this vision.

 It will:

  • Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding and child safety, without compromise;
  • Promote the unique character and identity of each school;
  • Foster best practice in every aspect of its schools' provision.;
  • Strive to challenge all students to realize their full potential in all fields of endeavour;
  • Support and monitor teacher performance, investing in regular and appropriate staff training and development;
  • Encourage open and effective communications between its schools and parents;
  • Seek to engage and work with parents at every available opportunity.
