Herries Preparatory School is seeking to to appoint an inspirational and dynamic EYFS and Nursery  Assistant with a passion for developing lively and practical EYFS learning activities. Hours: 32.5 to 40 hours across 5 days per week. 34 weeks & 5 inset days

Position: Permanent, Term time only.

Location: Herries Prep School, Dean Lane, Cookham Dean, Berkshire, SL6 9BD

Details:

Herries Prep is a delightful non-selective school, with small classes, for children  2-11 within the former home of Kenneth Grahame, where ‘Wind in the Willows’ was written. The school was initially established in 1937 in a beautiful historic setting.

Main duties:

To provide high quality teaching and learning opportunities and assist with planned activities relevant to pupils’ age and stage of development.

To help to maintain a safe, secure and caring environment.

To prepare and participate in a range of activities to promote each child’s physical, intellectual and emotional needs to enable them to reach their full potential.

To engage children in activities which encourage linguistic and social interaction between the children and their carers.

To act as key worker for a group of children, by observing, monitoring and accurately  recording each individual's development in the school’s systems, currently EeXAT.

Herries Preparatory School is an independent mixed day school for students aged 2 -11. The school is located in Berkshire, in the village of Cookham Dean near Maidenhead. Around 100 pupils currently attend Herries School. Our classes are small, allowing teachers to offer each child a high level of individual attention. The pastoral care is often praised – pupils feel safe within the school environment.

Founded in 1937, Herries Preparatory School is based within an Edwardian house, which once belonged to the "Wind in the Willows" author Kenneth Grahame.

Values and vision

The broad curriculum allows children to develop as individuals, helping them to identify their strengths and achieve high standards both academically and in extra-curricular activities. The teaching team support children to develop confidence and self-esteem.

Sporting activities are an important addition to the curriculum, with international-standard facilities on the school's doorstep. Herries Preparatory School also has a thriving drama and music department.
