We are a 3-19 all age fully inclusive Academy on an exciting journey to become an outstanding organisation and are very proud that in 2014 we received an SSAT award for our students being in the top fifth of schools nationally when looking at their progress across a broad range of subjects. We are also delighted to be able to offer state-of-the-art facilities in a new £36 million building providing staff with the opportunity to teach in a cutting edge and vibrant environment.

It is an exciting time to be joining us. We have recently joined the newly formed Bishop Fraser Trust, a C of E multi academy trust currently consisting of two outstanding schools - St James’s C of E High School and Canon Slade School.

The schools of The Bishop Fraser Trust aim to offer:

  •  A high quality, inclusive and distinctive education
  •  A caring and nurturing environment based on our Christian values, recognising the uniqueness of each child.

Our primary phase is already considered good and we are working hard towards becoming outstanding and are proud that our primary practice is being utilised to also help drive up standards in our secondary phase. We had another set of strong SATS results this summer, reflective of the hard work and effort all our colleagues put in to ensuring our children receive the quality education they deserve.

The successful candidate will have a passion for collaboration and a commitment to ensuring each child reaches his or her potential. The post is suitable for an enthusiastic, creative and caring teacher who will be able to deliver outstanding outcomes for our primary aged children. Working in our Nursery, we are looking for a qualified teacher who:

  • demonstrates the potential to be a good to outstanding teacher, having a clear understanding of the characteristics of high quality teaching
  • can quickly form positive and supportive relationships with our children and their parents
  • can motivate children to work hard and try their best through passing on to them their infectious enthusiasm and passion!
  • works hard to ensure all children make at least expected progress irrespective of their starting point and individual needs
  • actively shares good practice and seeks to explore ways to improve their own and others’ teaching
  • understands that behaviour management starts with the quality of teaching in the classroom
  • demonstrates personal resilience and role models those personal qualities we wish to instil in our young people

In return we can offer:

  • fantastic facilities
  • a supportive and encouraging staff team
  • opportunities for continuous professional development including a great NQT programme
  • opportunities to work collaboratively with secondary colleagues
  • a paid premium to a Healthcare Cash Plan to claim back contributions towards dental, optical and other medical costs
  • 24/7 access to an Employee Assistance Programme
  • access to a Cycle to Work Scheme
  • a lunch allowance for those colleagues volunteering to assist in lunchtime duties or activities
