We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and creative EYFS Leader for our inclusive, one-form school. 

You will: 

  • Have a passion for engaging children of all abilities with creative ideas and EYFS practice. 
  • Demonstrate an outstanding ability to underpin all learning experiences with the Early Learning Goals, and analyse assessments to ensure future provision is accurately targeted. 
  • Have the ability to raise standards of children attaining a good level of development (GLD). 
  • Have an excellent understanding of planning for child-initiated-learning, early reading, writing and maths. 
  • Understand and demonstrate open-ended questioning. 
  • Be able to inspire children through providing a rich learning environment which challenges all children and encompasses indoor and outdoor learning. 
  • Be able to establish open and productive communication with parents and carers. 
  • Be able to lead and motivate an experienced and hard-working staff team. 
  • Be able to promote the vision, values and ethos of the school.

To be alert to issues of child protection, ensuring that the welfare and safety of children attending the School/Nursery is promoted and safeguarded and to report any child protection concerns to the xxx (person responsible for child protection) using safeguarding policies procedures and practice. 

Prevent, identify and minimise risk of interpersonal abuse or violence, safeguarding children and other vulnerable people, initiating the management of cases involving actual or potential abuse or violence where needed 

Be aware of and update colleagues, as appropriate to comply with current legislation and policies affecting practice, e.g. Children's Act, National Service Frameworks, Child Protection Procedures, Health and Safety and Data Protection.

Woodford Green Primary is a one form entry school with onsite Nursery, located in Waltham Forest and on the border of Redbridge. Surrounded by Epping Forest, the school maintains a village ethos with a family atmosphere and character. 

We have a long history, being the oldest primary school in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. In the middle of our playground, we have a special oak tree, which is thought to be about 500 years old! Today, as in its earliest days, the school aims to enable each and every pupil to develop to their full potential, providing them with quality education within a caring environment.
