Job overview

The Tapton School Academy Trust are looking to appoint an outstanding EYFS class teacher who will have the responsibility of leading our EYFS provision, to start in September 2021.  The successful candidate must have experience of teaching EYFS, be able to demonstrate excellent understanding of the Early Years Curriculum, and demonstrate strong leadership skills.

Hallam Primary is a 3-form entry school with over 630 children on roll located in the Lodge Moor area of the city.  We are a school of choice and have over 20% of our cohort travelling from out of catchment to attend Hallam.  Children enter our EYFS from over 15 different nurseries and pre-schools and make good progress during their first year at school.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of outstanding teaching and an excellent understanding of the Early Years Curriculum. They will have the ability to forge excellent relationships with colleagues, parents and most importantly, our children. They must be a team player and be able to demonstrate strong literacy, numeracy and ICT skills as well as having a creative vision to ensure inspiring and motivating lessons are developed. Applications are encouraged from experienced teachers, although previous leadership of EYFS is not necessary. We want a teacher and leader who aims to ensure every child, regardless of need, is given every opportunity to achieve their best whilst at Hallam. Our children only get one chance at this and we want the right person to make sure that their start to school is the best it can possibly be,
