EYFS LEADER

STREETHAY PRIMARY SCHOOL

Lichfield, Staffordshire

MPS/UPS + TLR 2A

The Shaw Education Trust are delighted to invite applications for an EYFS Leader for our new primary school, Streethay Primary. This is a new LA free school presumption in Lichfield, due to open in September 2019 for Nursery, Reception and Years 1 and 2.  We seek an enthusiastic, dynamic and ambitious individual who has the capability and skills to lead our early years provision.  As one of a family of schools supported by the Shaw Education Trust, Streethay will benefit from our tried-and-tested ways of working, experience and expertise. We have an unswerving commitment to improving the life chances of all children and our leaders must reflect this determination to achieve excellence for all and by all.

As Early Years Lead you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of teaching and learning within the phase, highlighting and improving the provision and outcomes for all of our children through the delivery of a highly effective and engaging curriculum.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, confident and experienced teacher committed to living out our Trust values and vision for the school. We are looking for someone who is passionate about learning, with high expectations for all our children so that they can reach their true potential in a safe, exciting and nurturing environment. You will need to be an excellent class teacher and role model who can support and coach a new team of staff so that they have a sense of pride, accountability and mutual responsibility across the school. You will also have the ability to nurture, inspire and motivate pupils, building excellent relationships with parents and strong links with the community.

We are passionate about encouraging our children to develop an enquiring mind through a rich and varied curriculum that is relevant and engaging and meets their individual needs, prepares them for the next phase of their education and beyond, encourages them to become responsible citizens and develop a deep understanding and appreciation of both British and world cultures. Streethay has based its curriculum on that of Seabridge Primary School,  a highly successful school, and proud member of the SET family, renowned for its bespoke, innovative curriculum and wider opportunities for children to develop as well rounded, happy and confident individuals, where academic performance is well above national averages and children are encouraged to have high aspirations. As the Shaw Education Trust has a SCITT, Teaching School and Research school, this will place Streethay at the forefront of well researched teaching approaches that truly work and gives it the ability to secure and grow highly effective and qualified teachers.

Visits to Seabridge Primary School to meet the Executive Headteacher and Director of Primary, Sandra Mitchell, are warmly welcomed on:

Date – Monday 25th March between 12.30 and 3.00 p.m.; Wednesday 27th March from 9 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.; Monday 1st April from 2.00 to 4.30 p.m.

Please contact Seabridge Primary school office on 01782 432530  or email headteacher@seabridgeprimary.org.uk  to arrange these.

You may also visit our website for application packs and application forms.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  The successful applicant will be expected to share this commitment and be subject to enhanced disclosure and barring clearance.

Our collaborative approach

Shaw Education Trust is a growing multi academy trust sponsored by Shaw Trust. We lead and manage academies in all phases, all sectors and in all communities.

We believe that every child should have the opportunity to be successful whatever their starting point. We pledge an unswerving commitment to improve, accelerate and enable ambitious life goals amongst all young people in our academies.

We don't believe in prescribing a curriculum; instead we support our academies to offer a curriculum that deepens knowledge, develops skills and fires the curiosity of students. We also expect each Academy to offer a range of support that addresses life after school, develops students' independence and helps them to prepare for university and the world of work.

Senior leaders at each Academy have the support of a core team and commissioned experts to provide high quality teacher training and development to staff to ensure they are continually developing their good practice.

We also encourage collaboration within and between our academies to create a community of professionals with a wide range of valuable experience and specialist knowledge to share.

Integrity and transparency underpin our accountability approach. We believe in earned autonomy for our academies, with the Trust Board providing the appropriate level of challenge and support - as well as oversight - to each. Local accountability is supported through a system of Academy Councils, with representatives of the whole school community in membership.
