Job overview

We are looking for an experienced and passionate EYFS Leader to join Whyteleafe Primary School on a part-time, temporary basis to cover maternity leave until December 2025. This is an out-of-class leadership role, providing the opportunity to shape and drive the Early Years provision, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our youngest learners. Your opportunity

This role is ideal for a highly experienced EYFS educator with strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills, dedicated to maintaining excellence in early years education.

What we are looking for

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree
  • Proven track record as a good or outstanding teacher
  • Experience in leading professional development and supporting improvements in teaching and learning
  • Strong data analysis skills to inform planning and enhance outcomes
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and support staff
  • A commitment to continuous professional development, staying up to date with curriculum and teaching advancements
  • Resilience, motivation, and a team-focused approach, aligning with the school’s values and vision
  • A passion for early years education, ensuring the best outcomes for every child

About Whyteleafe Primary, part of the Chalklands Cluster

Our School sits within an established cluster of Primary schools, overseen by a Regional Director. Along with Whyteleafe Primary, our cluster includes the following other schools; Chestnut Park Primary School, Warlingham Village Primary School, Marden Lodge Primary School, and Hillcroft Primary School

Pay Scale: GLF Upper Pay Range 

Days per week: 60/100ths (3 days per week) - Mon-Weds preferred but can be flexible.

Contract type: Temporary (Maternity Cover)

Whyteleafe is a high achieving, happy, vibrant and forward thinking school in which children excel themselves, both academically and socially.

The School welcomes children aged 4 to 11 years of age to join the school in the September following their 4th birthday. Each year the school admits 60 children to two reception classes of up to 30 pupils per class.
