ISA international School in Guangzhou is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic EYFS teacher starting from August 2019!

School Mission

ISA International School is committed to creating a community, which is focused on individual learners, nurturing their gifts and talents, and helping them become responsible global citizens and internationally-minded young men and women. Their education will follow a holistic model, which balances academic and co-curricular pursuits with leadership, character and moral development. It will be a community where many nationalities and cultures come together and learn from each other, especially in an international school environment. The ‘ISA International School Science City Campus’ will enroll more than 1 800 students, and K-12 full process international education for students aged 2 to 18. It is scheduled to be operational in August 2020.

Location Overview

Long known as the “Flower City”, Guangzhou is the largest metropolis in South China, Affluent in historical and cultural heritage. It is close enough to Hong Kong for wonderful weekends away. Most of Guangzhou is a full-integrated and modern city that you will find anything and everything you need.

Curriculum 

In the Early Years Programme, our emphasis is on the Personal, Social and Emotional Development of the children, their Physical Development and Communication and Language. 

ISA International School of Guangzhou uses the IB PYP Framework with the English National Curriculum, which allows students to learn and develop their knowledge, concepts, skills and attributes as well as improving students’ academic outcomes. We use UK curriculum standards, content, skills and outcomes for lesson planning. The IB framework acts as a guide in inquiry learning and developing independence. We also focus on developing students’ general capabilities, which consist of Literacy, Numeracy, Social-Intercultural-Ethical Competence and Critical & Creative Thinking.

Outdoor activities are planned to ensure students develop their physical skills and have a happy and healthy approach to inquiry in the world. Students enjoy off site trips to places such as the airport, the zoo or farm, to complement and extend their work in class. Students in Early Years are also offered swimming lessons.

Faculty

In the Early Year classes, the maximum number of students in each class is twenty.  Each class consists of an overseas IB teacher as its classroom teacher, a bilingual associate teacher and a classroom assistant. The Early Years is led by an Early Years Coordinator and the Head of Primary and Early Years.. The whole faculty works together to create a high-quality educational plan and a comfortable learning atmosphere for all students. Our teachers and curriculum design help students to achieve all the above goals.  

Special Qualifications/Skills Experience & Education

  • min a BA in Early Childhood or PGCE/equivalent of a PGCE in teaching Early Years 
  • Experience with the IB PYP Curriculum
  • Min 2 years of teaching experience 
  • Experience with EAL students is a plus
  • Excellent inter-personal skills with students, teachers and parents.
  • Excellent administrative, organizational, and ICT skills.
  • High level of English proficiency.

Benefit Package

320 000 RMB - 400 000 RMB/year based on experience and qualifications. Plus flight allowance, shipping allowance, housing allowance with flat nearby the school, school shuttle bus from flat to school, Visa application assisted, contract completion Gratuity (8% of the year salary), Global Medical Coverage, Free tuition fee up to 2 dependents.
