Job overview
Harris Primary Academy East Dulwich opened in September 2014 in order to meet significant demand from East Dulwich families for new primary places. We started with a Reception cohort and will grow by a year group at a time. The Academy is currently operating out of a temporary site before moving to our new building on Lordship Lane, on the old site of the East Dulwich Police Station in September 2016. We are hugely excited about the building, which will be a modern and welcoming place for children and a fantastic location for existing and future staff.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our collaborative and growing Academy team as an Early Years Teaching Assistant, working in our Reception classes. This is an exciting position, which could offer excellent career progression and development.
The person we are looking for will have the minimum of a Level 3 equivalent qualification, be passionate about education and have a flair for working with young people. The position would also suit a university graduate interested in gaining initial classroom experience as a Teaching Assistant, or those looking to start a career path in Teaching.
Working as part of an experienced, collaborative and talented team, your role will be to provide support to the class teacher, including teaching small groups of pupils, some 1:1 support work with children of all abilities and helping to prepare and organise resources and setting up an inspiring learning environment at the beginning and end of each day. You will be encouraging and supporting individual pupils to reach their full potential, whilst demonstrating a creative and determined attitude that will help motivate pupils.
We are looking for an outstanding practitioner and team player, who enjoys working with young people, has a desire to contribute to the development of the school and has:

- High aspirations for themselves and a commitment to further development.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (8:30-4:30pm – term time only)
