Golborne is a flourishing and expanding school, with Progress 8 score of +0.59 in 2019 which has subsequently risen year on year, we are placed in the top ten per cent of schools in the country. We are the lead school in Wigan for the Generate Teaching School Hub and work together with our partners to deliver school to school support, exceptional CPD and early career framework structures.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative and proactive Facilities & Safety Director to lead our Site Team.  This is a key role in school and the successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the management and development of the school premises; to ensure the health, safety and security of the school site, buildings and all its users; and to oversee and participate in the provision of an efficient and effective cleaning service in school.

The successful candidate will have a good standard of education, including English and Maths (GCSE grade C and above), good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Golborne High School, a co-educational secondary school of around 1,200 pupils, is located near to Wigan, Greater Manchester. Providing places for pupils aged 11-16, Golborne High is a foundation cooperative trust school, forming a key part of the GoalCo Trust, a network of schools and colleges situated in and around Wigan.

The GoalCo cooperative was established in 2010, but the secondary school itself first opened its doors in 1954.
