Blatchington Mill School and Sixth Form College needs to recruit a Facilities Assistant to join a committed and experienced team.
This is an ideal post for someone starting their career in school facilities maintenance. The role includes manual handling and there is a need for a reasonable level of physical strength and resilience. We are looking for a team player who takes pride in their work and shows initiative.
The key responsibilities of this post will be to carry out maintenance tasks to ensure that the buildings and site are kept in a good condition to support the teaching and learning at this popular and successful large secondary school.
The Facilities Team of 7, led by the Facilities Manager, keeps this school running smoothly. There is an established programme of maintenance and improvement carried out by the team working alongside contractors. Brighton and Hove City Council provide good support to Blatchington Mill School, helping to organise key improvements and repairs. In addition to the planned works, it is important that the team is able to react to the unpredicted needs that occur during the school day.
