Job overview

Joining us as Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of all facilities management estates and services at both Carshalton College and Merton College. This includes; manned security and security systems, contract catering, cleaning and waste disposal, maintenance arrangements both directly employed and contractors, post and other site services.


So, if you have an appropriate Level 3 qualification and experience in the delivery of facilities management services, then we would love to hear from you.


With well-developed communication, interpersonal and prioritisation skills and positive ‘can-do’ approach, you will have a thorough knowledge of building constructions, building services, systems and plant, including Building Management Systems, and have experience of using a computerised helpdesk system.


With experience of managing a team in a facilities environment, you will be able to produce and analyse data and making appropriate recommendations. You will be required to have a Level 3 Health & Safety qualification and working knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and procedures relevant to an educational establishment.

Carshalton College is a co-educational further education college based in Sutton. It is a non-denominational school.

The college has been an education provider for over 60 years. It is a major provider of full-time, part-time, apprenticeships, access, undergraduate and supported learning courses. 

The college is situated in an environment surrounded by parks and ponds, but within a proximity of the towns of Sutton and Croydon. It is accessible from all areas of south London and its transport links also allow its students to be in the centre of London within 30 minutes.
