The role is responsible for the security, safety and general appearance of the College buildings and grounds, together with minor works maintenance and repairs, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality customer focused service as standard. Working as part of a team across all college sites, the facilities technician will ensure all staff, students and visitors along with College buildings, valuables, resources and assets are safe and secure. They will encourage and engage in an ethos of shared responsibility and respect, to enable the safeguarding and wellbeing of any user of the College. Where safe to do so the facilities technician will proactively intervene to mitigate and eliminate situations where safety and security may be compromised.


This is a flexible role providing support cross college across all premises occupied by the course or its subsidiaries.  There is no fixed workplace attached to this role which also includes responsibility for the security of College premises and contents during and outside normal College opening times. The role-holder will be observant making regular visits to all parts of the premises for security purposes and challenge assertively, but not aggressively any apparent unauthorised persons or intruders on College premises.

Opened in 1992 after being formed from a number of colleges in the city we now have 5 locations situated in the heart of Liverpool. Currently the college serves more than a third of all 16-18 year olds in Liverpool, and educates almost 12,000 learners a year. In 2018 the college achieved a pass rate of 99.6% beating the national average of 97.6% for a-level results. Within this year as well we had a 100% pass rate in modern languages.

However, the college itself is not just facts and figures. The mission statement of provide high quality skills and education by delivering opportunities for growth to all people and business of the Liverpool City region, shows inclusivity and a community understanding. The ease in which to get here helps quite a lot to. Be it driving, buses, trains or even a ferry you are never short of options. 

Being that working/living in Liverpool does offer a wide range of experiences to have. Historical buildings like the Bombed out church, Royal court theatre house or even a hidden gem like the Bluecoat School lane which boasts being the oldest building in Liverpool. The Beatles museum is a popular place to explore the band and possible find bits out about them you might not have known. Or if just unwinding and relaxing there are multiple pubs/bars, restaurants, and comedy nights to enjoy.

That’s not to say our college doesn’t offer its own fair share of experiences. Within the 5 locations the following are available;
