Biddick Academy is seeking to appoint an inspiring and enthusiastic Faculty Leader of Engineering and Vocational Learning for September 2021. This is an exciting opportunity for new or existing middle leaders to join a thriving, oversubscribed secondary school conveniently located 10 minutes’ drive from Newcastle and Durham. We are looking for a passionate, driven, committed, forward thinking and innovative Faculty Leader of Engineering and Vocational Learning, to lead this successful faculty. We require an inspirational individual who has a clear understanding of vocational learning and the Key Stage 3 Design Technology curriculum, with the knowledge of how to build on existing strengths, to move the department forward.
The Faculty at present comprises Engineering, Hair and Beauty Studies, Hospitality and Catering and Key Stage 3 Design Technology. The Faculty is extremely well-equipped with state-of-the-art industrial machinery and equipment. The Engineering area benefits from two lathes, a mill, laser cutters and industrial CNC lathe and mill machinery all housed in a well-equipped engineering workshop. We have an up to-date Hair and Beauty studio that is fully furnished with 9 work stations and specialist equipment. The Faculty also benefits from a full computer suite available during all lessons.
