An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and talented professional to lead our highly successful Science and Technology Faculty in Hampshire's first, all-through school. We are very proud of the exceptional progress and attainment achieved by our pupils which results from a strong ethos of learning together. 

 

The role is primarily focused on science, so experience of teaching or leading technology is not a pre-requisite, as the successful candidate will be in the fortunate position to be leading a highly skilled team of subject leaders and co-ordinators all-through. This presents an excellent opportunity for a talented professional to develop their breadth of experience in readiness for senior leadership. 

 

The successful candidate will be an outstanding practitioner and in the privileged position of leading a team of highly skilled and dedicated professionals. As Faculty Leader of Science and Technology the successful candidate will be a member of the School's Strategic Development Team – playing a key role in helping to shape our school as well as supporting, upholding and enriching the whole school ethos.

 

The colleague appointed to this role will work in partnership with the Faculty Leader for Maths and Computing as well as leading a number of experienced Subject Leaders in Science and Technology.

·        To be passionate about enabling every pupil to make excellent progress in Science and Technology

·        To lead new initiatives and pedagogy as appropriate, continuing to develop the team;

·        To be able to use information about pupil progress effectively to support teaching and learning;

·        To be flexible in supporting whole school initiatives;

·        To be a team player, effectively balancing colleague wellbeing and pupil outcomes.

 

The Westgate School has a Health & Fitness Suite and an on-site, full time day nursery (0-5 years) available to employees at reduced rates.
